ARE WE AT WAR … OR NOT?

What do YOU THINK?

 

            The links that brought you here are writings from my “WAR ON AMERICAN CORE VALUES” writings and efforts.  Or you may have come from a speech, program, class, or even a complete course on American Core Values I have designed and taught or plan to teach. You may even have contributed a scholarship, tuition, money or writing  … such as, “ My Best Example of a Core Value applied in my life and/or career.”

 

            However you got here, please let me ask you the most important questions of your life and THE LIFE OF OUR COUNTRY.

 

Ÿ        Is America at war? The answer is obvious. Of course we are. Our troops are wounded, losing limbs, losing body parts, bodies, blood and dying.

Ÿ        Then why aren’t we acting like it? Why do people in our government and our media support the enemy and hate our Military, President, Flag, Laws,  Country and say so, act so,  and demonstrate so? We ALL have heard them and seen them on TV, in person or on the internet. HAVEN’T WE????

Ÿ      The answer is scary my friends. It’s because we are  … losing the war. 

Ÿ        Not the war you think … A MUCH BIGGER WAR!

Ÿ        No nation on earth can defeat this nation in the kind of war we all think about. You know the traditional war … Ships, Planes, Bombs, Tanks, Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and such.  Abraham Lincoln said “ No Nation on earth will ever be able to defeat this nation from without. God has provided us with two impregnable barriers … The Atlantic and Pacific.” He went on to say IF WE ARE EVER DEFEATED IT WILL BE FROM WITHIN.

Ÿ        Think I’m Looney right? So let me ask you about the things which made us the greatest nation on earth … OUR AMERICAN CORE VALUES. You know … Truth, Honesty, Equality, Patriotism, Respect, Responsibility and a host of others, like Work Ethic, Commitment, Faith, Dependability, Manners, Etiquette, COURAGE  and more? How are we doing there?

Ÿ        You know the answer. Everyone knows CORE VALUES NOW DON’T THEY? Are you ready? NO WE DON’T AND WE SURELY DON’T APPLY THEM. WE’RE TOO BUSY LIVING THE BLESSINGS SO MANY HAVE DIED FOR OR GIVEN BODIES AND BLOOD FOR. 

Ÿ        This guy is a nut … right? Then please take this self test:

v    How are our families doing?  You know: divorce, single parents, no dads, grandparents raising the kids, guardians, day schools raising kids … you know the drills …

v    Businesses? The Enrons, Global Crossings, Tycos, Health Souths up the road in Alabama … you know …

v    Government ofFICIALS. It doesn’t matter whether Republican, Democrat , Independent , elected or bureaucrat … Nixon, Clinton … “Now You Listen to me, I didn’t have sex with that woman, Monica etc etc.”… Now I’m hearing of little girls with V.D. of the throat in grammar schools, of course that isn’t sex. I still see the grand parade of pious Supreme Court Justices and Senators marching into grand chambers  … THE VERDICT ALREADY DECIDED!

v    SCHOOLS … once the best.  Now perhaps the worst among industrial nations. Teachers can’t be parents and especially when their hands are tied by legally (Or Illegally) self appointed experts on the constitution … and with no core values support at home and or in the community.

v    CHURCHES … bigger but with so many and so much lost in the chase,

v    Illegal Immigrants … Hey It’s not my fault … TO BE FAIR we must write new laws to protect the law breakers … give me a break!

v    Language …  what language, and which one to say nothing of GRAMMAR. That was lost decades ago.

v    Music … What ever happened to Melody, Words one can understand and Rhythm  … not banging erratic noise THAT MAKES MONEY SCREAMING HOW TO KILL PEOPLE.

v    DRUGS, VIOLENCE, SENSLESS CRIMES OF ALL KINDS, GANGS AND THEIR VIOLENCE … It’s crazy out there …

v    GREED, GRABBING AND STEALING IN HURRICANES. Ivan in Pensacola and Katrina in New Orleans and Mississippi brought out the greed and corruption everywhere, contractors, governments, insurance companies … you name it .

v    YUP … I’m a nut … who thinks we are LOSING TWO WARS.  And that ladies and gentlemen is how we are LOSING THE WAR ON AMERICAN CORE VALUES! And if we don’t reverse this trend we will lose the WAR ON TERROR AS WELL.

 

NOW THE GOOD NEWS … We not only can win but we will win it because:

%    America is and always has been GOOD … Because of our American Core Values. You remember, those values that made us great. (See Core Values Defined)

%    Americans are good, except for the few bad apples that have forced all the points above on ALL OF US, while we were too busy wallowing in our blessings to care.

%    But now look around you. Japanese Admiral Yamamoto said after the battle of Midway … “We have awakened a SLEEPING GIANT.” They did and WW2 was history.

%    Again the giant is stirring. Americans don’t like what we see! We simply can’t roll over and go back to sleep.  HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM!

America Is At War … WE MUST WIN?

Are you ready for this? … NOONE THINKS WE CAN WIN THIS ONE!

Let me repeat that … NOONE THINKS WE CAN WIN THIS ONE!!!!!!!

 

          Please stay with me one more time. Just ask your most trusted friend two questions:

1.     How do you feel about those things Mac asked above? They will agree with most if not all. But … here is the killer.

2.     What can we do to restore our American Core Values IN ALL THOSE AREAS? Will you help? In one way or other their honest answer will be … “There isn’t anything “YOU OR I” can do about it.

3.     If that is true we lose. BUT IT ISN’T TRUE. Here is why. 

          A small band of Patriots took up arms when an episode in the navy shocked us by opening our eyes to a fact … hard to believe. A young sailor, as I am told stole a “Boom Box” without knowing he had stolen it. He simply had not been taught that “IT IS WRONG TO STEAL … TO TAKE WHAT IS NOT YOURS.”

          Let me ask you … “How much more have we not taught our young?” And our government, politicians, media, business etc. etc. ALL THE REST? Sadly you and I know the answer … but  REMEMBER ? … “There’s nothing you or I can do about it.”

          Ah but there was in the early 1990s … wasn’t there?

 

Vice Admiral Jack Fetterman and the Navy took up arms in 1993.

The Escambia School District Entered the War following his lead.

The Pensacola Area Chamber of Commerce followed the lead at that time.

Businesses … Like Gulf Power played a leading role with employee training in 1995.

Mayor John Fog joined the war from City Hall and added 7 more values to renew

Then Rotary Clubs and other groups joined the fray in many different ways.

 

          Good progress was made. But over the past ten years we have started SLUMBERING  again. You and I know it and see the evidence all around us. They are worse now than in the mid 90s … AREN’T THEY? Where is Paul Revere when we need him? I don’t see Paul around but I am offering you ALL I HAVE GOT … me … and AMERICAN Core Values Coalition.
